A triptych (triptiek) is a work of art (usually a panel painting) that is divided into three sections. The work consist of separate images that are variants on a theme, or one larger image split into three.
On my sonic triptych I made three different sections that are strongly related in sound and texture.
When I make music, I try to feel where the tones and sounds take me and my only criterion is "Does it sound okay?". The music that arises has an inward, meditative character. There's no song structure with verse, chorus and brigde, no strict rhythm, only slowly evolving tones and pulses. Because of this lack of structure there's no reference, nothing to cling to. This makes it inevitable to attune yourself to what’s actually happening in the moment. Then, under the right circumstances, listening to this music can be a transcendental, or religious experience.
